Ron Getz, guitarist and composer, has studied at Berkeley College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. He has performed with a variety of jazz greats, including Arthur Blythe, Billy Hart, John Scofield, Steve Grossman, Bill Evans, Branford Marsalis and Marvin "Smitty" Smith (from the Jay Lenno Tonight Show Band). He has also shared the stage with blues greats B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Jeff Healy, Johnnie Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard. He shared the bill with Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Eric Burden, Electric Light Orchestra and Jefferson Starship. His CD release Ego State has received critical acclaim in Jazz Times and Down Beat. He has recorded and produced numerous CD projects under his own name and with other artists in the jazz, blues, rock and pop genres. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. Ron currently performs at the Trillium Lounge at the Grand Traverse Resort Friday and Saturday nights (9:00pm to 1:20 am). Featured with Ron on Friday and Saturday nights are some of the area's best singers and players performing dance and listening music ranging from Motown, Pop, Blues, Funk, Swing and Jazz.
